Student Fees DAY ONE – Arrival Granada Hotel or Homestay Granada is a picturesque colonial city that was founded in 1524 by Captain Francisco Hernandez de Cordoba. Granada is situated next to the Mombacho volcano and sits on the shores of Lake Cocibolca, with over 300 isletas. But without a doubt, its greatest treasures are its people, customs and culture. Interact’s foreign representative will meet you in the airport lobby. Transfer to your hotel or meet your Granada Homestay Director, where you’ll meet your host families. HOST FAMILIES are usually relatives, neighbors, or lifelong friends of our homestay directors. Regardless, directors monitor and continually evaluate host families. Host families provide all meals - except those incorporated in the touring. Everyone speaks Spanish in the home. Students normally share with one other group member of the same general language ability. DAY TWO – Granada / 
Centro Historico walking tour and boat ride on Lake Cocibolca to view several of the 365 isletas, including monkey island. Following lunch, your is a special visit to a local school, where you’ll help the children with their homework or play games.
DAY THREE – Masaya Market & Volcano Night Tour Explore the centro this morning or participate in your prepaid optional Mombacho zipline. Following lunch, visit the historic craft city of Masaya. Practice your Spanish and bargaining skills in the mammoth souvenir market. Just before sunset, drive to the active cone of Santiago. Then, follow your licensed guide into the heart of the earth through lava tubes, while three different species of bats fly over your head. Weather-permitting, you’ll have an opportunity to actually look inside the crater mouth. The red glow of the lava lightens the whole surroundings. |
